Care instructions

Pflanzy contains coconut fiber granulate, clay granulate, compostable planting pot and plant seeds.

  • Carefully pull back sticker. Open the seed packet and carefully remove any stringy orange tufts attached to them with a clean knife.
  • Put seeds in a glass with luke warm water for 48 hours.
  • After 48 hours remove seeds from water and plant the seeds 1-2 cm (1/2 to 1 inch) deep and a few centimetres/several inches apart. Slowly pour about 30 ml of water on the planted seeds.
  • Keep the planting cylinder in a bright, warm place and water moderately until plants are germinating (approx. 20 ml about every 3 days). Make sure that the granulate doesn't dry up – avoid waterlogging!
  • Bird-of-paradise flower seeds are slow to germinate, taking up to 8 weeks to germinate. Continue to water moderately.
  • It will take at least 4-6 years of growth for the plant to start blooming.
  • As soon as the plant gets too big for the container, remove it with its compostable pot and transplant it into a flower pot with some soil. You can also use your empty wooden cylinder as a pencil holder!
