Care instructions

The ecobag contains a contains coconut fiber granulate, clay granulate and a bag with seeds.

  • Use scissors to cut the bag open about 1 cm below the seal.
  • Open the seed packet and put seeds in a glass with luke warm water for about 24 hours.
  • After about 1 day, remove seeds from water and plant the orchid tree seeds about 1 cm below the surface of the granulate in the ecobag. Cover the seeds slightly with soil.
  • Place the bag on a small plate and water the ecobag carefully by pouring about 150 ml of lukewarm water into the bag.
  • Keep the ecobag in a bright, warm place and water moderately until plants are germinating (approx. 50 ml about every 3 days). Make sure that the granulate doesn't dry up – avoid waterlogging!
  • After about 2 to 4 weeks the orchid tree will start to grow. Continue to water moderately.
  • As soon as the plant gets too big (after about 6-8 months), the ecobag can be planted entirely into a flower pot with some soil. The ecobag will slowly decompose and turn into a valuable fertilizer.
  • It will take at least about 4-6 years of growth for the plant to start blooming.
